Our
Tennis.World.Craze!’s WTA Most Improved Player of the Year is definitely……………
Vesnina
had her resurgent season this year, returning to the Top 100 in the rankings
and setting a new career-high ranking at 16th in the world. She
reached her first ever Grand Slam semifinal at Wimbledon, losing to World No.1
Serena Williams.
The
highlight of Vesnina’s year is definitely reaching the semifinals of Wimbledon,
defeating Andrea Petkovic, Dominika Cibulkova, and Ekaterina Makarova along the
way. Her resurgence also started at the Qatar Open, reaching the quarterfinals as a qualifier and defeating Simona Halep, Caroline Garcia and Caroline Wozniacki along the way.
